Artist Statement
Mariia Luiza Antuanetta focuses on depicting abstraction, nature, and architecture.
“I won't be lying if I say that art saved me. My life story is full of pain and traumatic experiences, but who among us doesn't have that? When I was a child, in order to avoid being bullied at my first school, I signed up for an art club. That's where it all began”
Mariia Luiza Antuanetta works across watercolour, acrylic, pastel and oil, constantly experimenting with technique and form. Her studies in architecture shaped her understanding of perspective and composition, which infuse her work with deliberate structure beneath its emotional surface.
Luiza’s themes range from contemplative to expressive, drawing from the world around her and the emotions it awakens. In each piece, she holds her experiences and observations, inviting viewers to see through a new lens.
The war in Ukraine has deeply affected her practice. Through her work, she hopes to affirm that beauty and peace still exist in our world—a quiet resistance to violence and despair.
